Pendarves REW Pty Ltd

The development of Pendarves Estate began in 1986 and today the Company is known as Pendarves REW Pty Ltd. The original Vineyards were situated in the Belford Dome, a new sub-region in the Lower Hunter Valley just north-west of the established Pokolbin vineyards. Pendarves REW Pty Limited is jointly owned by 'The Wine Doctor' Dr Philip Norrie, Managing Director and Anthony Proctor, Chairman.

The "Belford Dome" is unique to the Hunter vineyard region and ideal for producing fruit driven wines with intense flavours. The "Belford Dome" is a small outcrop of limestone covered by a clay topsoil, very similar to the famous "terra rosa" profile of Coonawarra, and quite unlike the general clay and volcanic soil structure of the region. It was near here that James Busby planted the first vineyard in the Hunter Valley called Kirkton after 1825.

Along with more 'traditional' varieties of Shiraz, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc & Chardonnay, Pendarves REW Pty Ltd has entered into a Joint Venture in Australia with Wine IQ REW Pty Ltd, and can now therefore offer an exciting range of wines, with new varieties and blends, often outside the usual commercial mainstream of Hunter Valley, and encompassing production partnerships with a variety of unique Grower's styles from Australia's prestige Wine Growing Regions. Pendarves REW offers fruit driven wines with intense flavours. Today, Pendarves REW Pty Ltd continues to flourish and Pendarves wine is exported to Europe, Asia and North America, together with significant distribution in Australia.
